New Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha on Friday described August 5 as a watershed day in the history when after years of isolation , J&K became part of the national mainstream.
Underlining the historic importance of August 5, 2019 , when the Centre had scrapped Article 370 and Article 35 A, the new LG made it clear as to what his stand on the issue is . He said that J&K was isolated from the national mainstream until then, and the great measures taken on the day undid isolation and enabled mainstreaming of J&K .
He was speaking to media immediately after taking oath of office in Srinagar Raj Bhavan this afternoon.
Sinha also vowed to take the projects undertaken after the August 5 to their logical conclusion . ” That will be my effort,” he said.
He said that Kashmir is a paradise , and ” I have been given an opportunity to play my role as new LG , that I will .”
