Jammu, November 8:

Inspector General of police (IGP) Jammu and Kashmir (Traffic) Basant Rath on Thursday came down heavily on Indian skipper Virat Kohli for his controversial ‘leave India’ remark in response to a cricket fan over his liking for Australian and English batsmen.

The top cop of J&K state who uses Twitter handle with name of Kangricarrier said that Virat Kohli should keep cricket patriotism confined to himself and that he (Rath) loves Pakistani cricket legend Javed Miandad.

“Dear Virat Kohli, I love Javed Miandad. You please keep your cricket patriotism to yourself. And to your advertisement contracts,” Rath wrote on his twitter handle.

Indian cricket team’s skipper Kohli has triggered a controversy following his response to a fan who had claimed that he (the fan) didn’t see anything “special in the skipper’s batting and that he enjoys watching English and Australian batsmen more than this Indian.”

In response, Kohli came with a reply asking the fan to leave India if he likes cricket from other countries.
