Srinagar, February 13: As the auctions for the first ever women Indian Premier League were held at the Jio world convention centre in Mumbai, Jammu and Kashmir’s promising young cricketer Jasia Akhter was bought by Delhi Capitals.

Akhter has been playing for Rajasthan state team for the last two years and has been performing tremendously during this time.

This top order right-handed batter is currently skipper of Rajasthan state team and has played for Punjab trailbazers and India reds in the past. She hailed from Brarioora village of south Kashmir’s shopian district.

Talking to JK News Today, Jasia Akhter’s former coach Sakeena Akhter said that she has been very promising cricket and her thirst for making a name the cricketing circles has brought her success today.

“She has played under my guidance in University of Kashmir’s team and she also represented J&K at the national level. She is a hardworking player wants to play for India,” Sakeena Akhter said.

Jasia had earlier also received a call for national camp in 2017 but couldn’t be picked for the national team.
