Chinese FM Wang Yi co-chaired the 25th Round of Talks between the Special Representatives on the China-India Boundary Question with Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in Beijing. Wang noted that China is ready to work with India to develop bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, be good neighbors and friends as well as partners that help each other succeed, and realize the “Dragon-Elephant Tango.”

Wang stressed that both sides should draw lessons from history, place the boundary question in an appropriate position in bilateral ties, press ahead without stagnation, regression or deviation, and gradually build a positive narrative for China-India border affairs, making dialogue, peace, consultation and cooperation the mainstream, and injecting positive factors into the sound and stable development of bilateral relations. The two sides held in-depth communication on advancing boundary negotiations, properly managing and controlling the border, improving mechanism building and promoting cross-border cooperation. Both sides will continue to properly handle the boundary question through dialogue and consultation and jointly maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas.
