The coronavirus count in India has gone up by 10,667 in the past 24 hours while the death toll has gone up by 380. The total coronavirus cases in India now stands at over 3.43 lakh while the death toll is nearing 10,000.

India has recorded a spike of 10,667 new coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. According to the latest health ministry data, the coronavirus death toll has gone up by 380 in India on Monday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has now reached 3,43,091 while the death toll has gone up to 9,900. With 3.43 lakh coronavirus cases, India is now ranked fourth in the world with the highest Covid numbers after the United States, Brazil and Russia.

Maharashtra remains the most-affected state in India with 1,10,744 coronavirus cases and over 4,100 deaths caused by the deadly virus that has wreaked havoc in the state.

Compared to the three other nations, India’s death toll is low. Globally, the coronavirus case count has crossed 8 million while the death toll is over 4,36,000, according to the Johns Hopkins University tally.

As the coronavirus cases in India continue to rise in great numbers, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a meeting with chief ministers of states on Tuesday and Wednesday.

PM Modi will be discussing the coronavirus situation and nationwide lockdown with the chief ministers of states in the meeting that will go on for two days.

Meanwhile, as Delhi recorded over 42,000 coronavirus cases so far and complaints of shortage of hospital beds grow louder, the Indian Railways has said it will deploy 200 more isolation coaches in Delhi to treat coronavirus cases.

On the other hand, Home Minister Amit Shah paid a visit at the LNJP Hospital in Delhi where coronavirus cases are being treated. Amit Shah has ordered installation of CCTVs in all designated coronavirus hospitals and wards for better monitoring.
