JK News Today

Respected Sir,

We are fully seized of the issues being faced by Indian Umrah pilgrims due to the ongoing flight disruptions and are extending all possible assistance to affected Indian nationals.

The Consulate has established 24×7 Control Rooms in Jeddah and Makkah and is in regular contact with affected pilgrims, tour operators and the concerned Saudi authorities. Our teams, with the support of Indian community associations and volunteers, are facilitating assistance with essential medicines, food and other immediate requirements, particularly for vulnerable pilgrims.

We are also closely coordinating with the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah on pilgrims’ welfare and with local authorities on visa-related matters. The issue of alternative flight arrangements and additional capacity has been taken up with the concerned authorities in India and the airlines. Some affected pilgrims have already returned through available scheduled flights, and efforts are continuing to facilitate the early return of the remaining passengers.

Please be assured of our continued efforts. We remain available to extend necessary assistance in any specific cases brought to our attention.

Kind regards, Fahad Suri
Counsalate General
