New Delhi, October 25:

India’s active coronavirus cases dropped below the seven-lakh mark for the second day in a row on Saturday, according to the Union ministry of health and family welfare. The total caseload has surpassed 7.8 million while the toll from the disease stands at 117,956.

As many as 7,016,046 people have recovered from the infection either home isolation or have been discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, several states have promised to provide Covid-19 vaccine to the people for free.

The global infection tally has reached 42.5 million with the maximum number of cases continuing to come from the United States at 8,571,943. The toll has risen to 1,148,943.
