Jammu, December 18 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday disclosed that Jammu and Kashmir will be hosting some of the G-20 events during the next one year when India is presiding over the grouping of the 20 leading economies of the world.
In his monthly “ Awaam ki Awaaz” , Manoj Sinha dwelt on several issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir . He made a special mention of the men and women who have made tremendous contribution in various fields, enriching art, social values and outlined vision for brighter future of J&K ,
During the address , which is listened with quite interest across various sections in the Union Territory , Manoj Sinha spotlighted India’s presidency of G -20 which began on December 1 , and revealed that some of the events would be hosted by Jammu and Kashmir. While India’s presidency of the grouping is an honour for the country, and it also reinforces the point that how India is acknowledged as a leader in the global affairs.
“ The crown of India , Jammu and Kashmir , will also be hosting some of the major events during this period. It is a unique opportunity for the people of J&K to showcase their cultural heritage and potential for tourism,” L G Sinha said.
Jammu and Kashmir has shown two major achievements in this particular year , nearly 20 million tourists have visited the United Territory , breaking all records. Kashmir has become the most favoured destination of the domestic and foreign tourists. The windfall of the tourists underscored the transformation of the territory from a conflict zone to peace-embracing entity.
