There is a fair conclusion: India has won war with Pakistan, beginning with the launch of Operation Sindoor, codenamed for strikes at Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir terror bases on the intervening night of May 6 and 7. This sums up the military victory that India scored, while punishing Pakistan for supporting terrorists on its soil.
The May 10th ceasefire or understanding to halt the military action against each other has led to a war of narratives that despite India winning on the battlefield in the four-day long intense and hi-tech war, yet it is now pinned down on the issue of Kashmir in the international discourse. This narrative is rooted in President Donald Trump’s social media posts, in which he offered to mediate between India and Pakistan to find a solution to Kashmir issue. This, as was expected, has been played up by Pakistan, with a lot of noise and celebratory drum-beating that it has been able to reinstate “Kashmir dispute” in the international community and media.
In the whole gamut of this geostrategic diplomatic narrative , Pakistan has failed to understand the actual dynamics of the perspective at the global level : It’s April 22nd mass murder of tourists in Amalgam by Pakistan sponsored terrorists that led to the launch of the retaliatory strikes , under operation Sindoor, last week. Pakistan escalated the ladder with its counter-strikes, which though foiled effectively by the Indian armed forces, were nevertheless manifestation of Pakistan’s intend to fight on behalf of terrorists. The escalation led to the strikes from both sides, and finally when Pakistan understood that it was not possible for it to survive the Indian counter-strikes, it called for ceasefire.
The whole focus of the international media ,from West and Asia, is on success of Operation Sindoor , how it escalated into a highly volatile situation which could have taken a worse turn , but they have not forgotten to mention from where it all began : April 22nd massacre in the woods and meadow of Pahalgam in south Kashmir .
Pahalgam is now synonymous with Pakistani terrorism that played out in its most brutal fashion. That is what is being referred to as original sin, which, the world acknowledges and amplifies as an act of terror committed by Pakistan. Amalgam attack was enacted to despoil the landscape of Kashmir, the beauty and peace of which attracted thousands of tourists every day, to defame Kashmir and Kashmir is. Pakistan wanted to bring Kashmir issue to the international attention. The international community and media now know that Pakistan used tool of terror in its most cruel fashion to do so .The act of terror cannot be separated from Amalgam that is in Kashmir.
That is precisely India has been saying all along that Pakistan is using terror , to keep Kashmir on boil and to fulfill its nefarious agenda to internationalize the issue internationally, in violation of all the bilateral pacts . Now, India has also made it clear and that too, very assertively that the issue that remains to be solved is vacation of PoK by Pakistan. A new norm has been set here too.
Pakistan is on mat.
Pakistan’s Defence Minister Kawjka Asif, in an interview with Sky News, had admitted that terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and others were its proxies and the government had been funding them the reality of Pakistan as a terror state is now known to the entire world. India has made this point quite successfully and won the battle of the narratives too.
