Rahul Gandhi has taken a dig at the impact of lockdown on coronavirus cases and said it is insanity in doing the same thing and expecting different results.

New Delhi, June 13:

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a dig at the Modi government extending the nationwide lockdown even as coronavirus cases spiked across the country. With graphs of the four-phase lockdown showing rise in coronavirus cases, he hit out at the government’s decisions.

In his tweet, Rahul Gandhi wrote the famous quote, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

India imposed the first phase of nationwide lockdown in an announcement made by Prime Minister Modi on March 24. On March 24, India recorded around 500 coronavirus cases.

After over two months of lockdown, India now has over 3 lakh coronavirus cases with over 8,800 deaths. India recorded a daily rise of over 10,000 coronavirus cases on Friday and Saturday as well, which are the biggest-ever spikes in India.

India is now easing the lockdown restrictions with Unlock 1.0 in which flight operations have resumed, inter-state travel has started again while the government has also allowed the opening of restaurants, malls, shops and places of worship.
