Jammu, January 03: BJP president J P Nadda is arriving in Jammu to have an on the spot assessment of political situation of Jammu and Kashmir and where his party sits on this landscape.
Nadda’s visit assumes significance as he will study each and every aspect of of the party’s strength that will see it through in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. His feedback to the parliamentary panel will decide whether the party will go with the sitting MPs who had won with huge margins in 2014 and 2019 polls .
Sources said that BJP high command is not happy with party’s performance in Kashmir as post Article 370 abrogation a positive narrative has not spread far and wide.
Though Nadda will take stock of the party’s preparedness for LS polls, he may also assess constituency wise readiness of the party for Assembly elections.
The Supreme Court Court has directed the Election Commission of India to hold J&K Assembly elections by September 30.
