New Delhi, March 3:

Reports have emerged that Maulana Masood Azhar is dead. Pakistan’s government is yet to make the official claim but as per the local media reports from Pakistan, Azhar was seriously injured during the air strike carried out by the IAF.

Masood Azhar was the founder and leader of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed which was active mainly in the PoK.

Recently, Pakistan’s foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi during an interview to CNN had admitted that JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar is in Pakistan but is very unwell. Azhar’s group was responsible for the Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were martyred.

Indian Airlines Flight 814 (IC 814) was hijacked by Harkat-ul-Mujahideen with tacit support from Pakistan’s ISI to free Azhar and two other terrorists who were in Indian custody.
