Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is not going to withdraw FIRs against security personnel lodged by the state police in a bid to assert her position as the leader of “ oppressed “ Kashmiri masses , sources close to her told J K News Today on Saturday.
The sources said that the Chief Minister was not amused with Home Minister’s remarks at a press conference in Jammu on Friday when he said that he had “ spoken to Chief Minister( regarding withdrawal of) FIRs.
She will stick by the FIRs, , the sources said.
However, there is a strong possibility of no investigation and action against the security personnel named in the FIRs.
What has made Chief Minister unhappy is that the FIR issue was brought in the public domain .
Her dilemma is that she cannot afford to be seen purely on the side of the security forces, while the scenes of youth getting mowed down under their wheels fill the cyber world and impact her brand of politics to be ahead in the race of competition of being champion of the Kashmiri Muslims .
