Jammu, September 7:

Jammu and Kashmir cricket Association is holding elections for district units through illegal means and are putting up some blue-eyed boys on the posts.
The process of electioneering has begun in many districts but in Doda district the elections were conducted yesterday and free passage was given to son of Director General Youth Services and Sports Jammu and Kashmir.
The elections were mere an eye wash as only few clubs from Doda and Bhaderwah towns were given the voting rights whereas others who are regularly playing association tournaments were sidelined and were not even informed.
Many prominent cricketers and people representing different clubs have raised questions on the process and have demanded cancellation of these elections.
“We were not even informed by the cricekt association about holding elections and forget giving the voting rights. This looks like game of few people who are already holding important positions in the government and they are trying to hijack the cricket Association also. We will raise protest at every level and will move court for justice,” said Manzoor Ahmad, patron of youngstar cricket Club Doda.
This club is holding All India Gufran Memorial cricket tournament every year in Doda and when it came to giving them rights, the club was sidelined.
Similarly, in Kishtwar district few clubs of Kishtwar town have been given the voting rights whereas 90 percent clubs are not aware of the process.
“We are trying our best to put end to this illegal process but authorities are not supporting us. But we will not succumb at any level,” said A M Bichoo, president saffron cricket Association Kishtwar.
