Acting sternly against Drug Peddlers and its Propagators. District Police Kulgam arrested an Absconder/Notorious Drug Peddler namely, Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohd Jamal Sheikh resident of Drian Qazigund who was evading his arrest since long as is being involved in number of cases of Narcotics trade in Qazigund area.
Today a Specific information regarding his presence was generated by Kulgam Police and promptly Police party of Police Station Qazigund headed by SHO Qazigund Insp. Irshad Reshi under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund Mohd Shafiq-JKPS raided the specified location and subsequently he was arrested from Qazigund area.
It is pertinent to mention that 08 months ago huge quantity of Illicit Liquor, Charas and Poppy Straw was recovered at Drian crossing on NHW from a Hotel that the said Narco smuggler owns and he is the Kingpin of Drug mafia along NHW. He was wanted by law for his involvement in case FIR No. 251/2020 U/S 8/15-18 NDPS Act and 48 Excise Act of Police Station Qazigund. The 05 accused involved in the said case are already facing trial before the Honorable court.
General Public is requested to extend cooperation to the Police and come forward with any information regarding any anti-social activity in their vicinity.
