All the five terrorists killed in  Halmatpora encounter in Kupwara were foreigners and  belonged to Lashkar-e-Toiba, according to  a senior police officer.

Inspector  General of Police , Kashmir Zone,  S P  Pani  confirmed to reporters that the terrorists with whom the encounter lasted for two days since Tuesday  were  foreigners  and from LeT.  He was talking to reporters  on the side lines of  wreath laying ceremony of the  policemen killed in the encounter that is  tagged as the biggest one of this year.

Halmatpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was very difficult task for the forces.
He said that the search is still going on.
Asked about the identification of the militants, the IGP Kashmir Range informed that all the militants were foreigners and the material that was recovered there indicate that they were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT).
He also informed that a huge arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site at Kupwara.
