Panel formed to look into land, culture concerns of Ladakh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has assured a delegation of Ladakh that a panel would be formed under the chairmanship of Minister of state for Home G Kishen Reddy to look into the concerns of land, language, culture voiced by the people of the region.


He said that the panel would address their concerns about the conservation of land, culture, heritage and language would be taken care of by the Government.


Shah extended this assurance after meeting a delegation of various leaders of Ladakh who had approached him to reiterate their concerns regarding their land, culture , language and wanted the union government to offer an unqualified guarantee that these would not be infringed upon.


Shah is reported to have told the delegation that all their concerns would be taken care of , as the Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is committed to the development of Ladakh region , and also recalled that how the Union Government had made Ladakh as a Union Territory in response to the demand of the people of the region.
