Lok Sabha Election 2024 Phase 3: Voting commenced at 7 am on Tuesday for the third phase of the 2024 Indian elections, covering 93 constituencies across 11 states and Union Territories. Notable candidates in this phase include Union home minister Amit Shah, contesting for a second term from Gujarat’s Gandhinagar, and Union ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna, Madhya Pradesh), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar, Gujarat), and Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad, Karnataka).

Additionally, Maharashtra’s Baramati, a stronghold of the ‘Pawar family’, holds significance as it will determine the fate of NCP founder Sharad Pawar’s daughter Supriya Sule, who faces competition from Sunetra Pawar, wife of the veteran leader’s estranged nephew and Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.

The third phase also holds importance for the late Mulayam Singh Yadav’s family, with three members in the electoral arena. This includes Akhilesh Yadav’s wife Dimple Yadav, contesting for a seat, Akshay Yadav vying to reclaim the Firozabad Lok Sabha seat, which he previously won in 2014, and Aditya Yadav making his electoral debut from the Budaun Lok Sabha seat, previously held by his cousin Dharmendra Yadav in 2014.
