Ahead of a major announcement on Jammu and Kashmir to provide a new direction to the Union Territory, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has reached Delhi to meet Home Minister Amit Shah.
The government of India has been busy with preparing a roadmap for Kashmir where political vacuum is becoming an issue. The GoI will also take a review of the current development scenario of J&K.
Lieutenant Governor Sinha who also is chairman of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board is expected to take call on annual Himalayan pilgrimage. Amarnath Yatra was scheduled to begin from June 28 and last till August 22.
But due to the second wave of the pandemic, its registration for pilgrims was suspended in April.
Now it is expected that the Yatra will be of a short duration with a limited number of pilgrims, though all arrangements for the Yatra have been completed.
