Jammu, March 11: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today moved around Jammu city and inspected developmental projects of national importance.

He inspected the construction site of Jumbo zoo and tawi river front.

In a tweet, Raj Bhawan informed, “Site inspection of Jambu Zoo, Jammu to review the progress of the construction work. This biggest Zoo of North India, will be opened for public next month.”

Jumbo zoo is one of its kind zoo on which the work was started during the PDP-BJP government when Choudhary Lal Singh was forest minister. The jumbo zoo will host a variety of animals and people will be able to go for Jungle safari. Work on this largest zoo of north India is going on war footings and is expected to be thrown open next month.

The LG also had an inspection of tawi front.

“Inspected the progress of Tawi River Front Project. The vibrant riverfront will ensure urban infrastructure sustainability, unique business opportunities and it will enhance the quality of life of the citizens,” Raj Bhawan said in another tweet.

This river front is coming up on the pattern of Sabarmati river front of Gujarat and is expected to boost tourism in Jammu city.

Manoj Sinha also reviewed construction work of a temple.

“Took on the spot review of the ongoing construction work of Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams. Interacted with temple officials and asked them to start construction of a Gurukul and Health Centre simultaneously,” Raj Bhawan said.
