LG Ladakh’s big initiatives in saving Himalayan glaciers. Sharing a post on social handle X, LG Ladakh said, “Chaired the first meeting of the Advisory Council of UT Ladakh, where we deliberated upon key developmental priorities including water and agricultural security, Pashmina development, sea buckthorn promotion, major infrastructure projects, tourism promotion, heritage conservation and administrative reforms among others. Along with the members, reviewed a comprehensive presentation detailing the extensive development works undertaken across Ladakh over the past seven months. Emphasized upon the urgent need for glacier protection amidst global warming, a challenge that demands collective action. Urged the council members to ideate innovative measures to strengthen Ladakh’s climate resilience, promote tourism and create new local employment avenues. Moving forward, our collective vision remains deeply focused on the holistic and responsible growth of our region. Together, we are committed to building a greener, more prosperous, and sustainable Ladakh for generations to come.”
