Jammu, March 15 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday reiterated that terrorists were recruited in Jammu and Kashmir during the political regime of the past , while rebuffing PDP president Mehbooba Mufti’s assertion that this was not the J&K cult, but it could be that of the UP from the state to which LG belongs.
Sinha , while talking to reporters at the side lines of a function in Jammu university , said that 47 men have been dismissed from government services on charges ( of their having links with terrorists or they themselves having been active in terror activities) , this is self-speaking He said that soon it will also be known as to during which period wee they recruited . That, he said would clear the air.
LG on Monday had stated that in the previous years ( prior to abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019) terrorists were recruited into the governments services, and at least one lakh were given services through backdoor and that has made difficult for the system to function in effective manner. Though he did not name any one, but his reference was to the previous political governments . He had taken to make this assertion , in response to the charges of the political leaders , Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti that the youth of J&K were being cheated , and the two leaders had taken out candle light march along with JKSSB aspirants , seeking justice and removal of Aptech company from the recruitment process.
Reacting to this , Mehbooba Mufti had said that UP, the state of LG Sinha , was notorious for all sorts of corruption and goons. This might be a culture in UP not in J&K
Replaying to a question on the postponement of the JKSSB exams which were scheduled to begin from March 16 , LG Sinha said that “ the exams have been postponed for the time being, and as and when these will be held , these will be transparent in all its forms and manifestations.”
