Jammu, April 25: Security forces on Wednesday achieved a major breakthrough in Poonch terror attack when they detained a person who had sheltered the terrorists who had carried out the gruesome attack on April 20.
The police, after detailed scanning of the pace and intense questioning of the people in and around the attack at Bhimber Gali on Rajouri-Poonch axis , have traced the man who sheltered the terrorists fro more than two months . The terrorists had brought with them arms and ammunition , and they were regularly in touch with their handlers, across the border- Pakistan . These facts have cometo light after the initial questioning of the detained person.
Five soldiers were killed in the terror attack on April 20 . Four of them were from Punjab and fifth one from Odisha.
Meanwhile, for the second time , Northern Army Command chief Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi visited the forward locations along the LoC in Poonch- Rajouri sectors , and asked the troops to be alert . There are reports that Pakistan is preparing to send a large number of infiltrators on this side of the border to up the ante on terrorism, ahead of the G20 meeting in Srinagar.
