New Delhi:- Prominent BJP leader from Budhal Assembly Segment and a noted Social Activist from Pir Panjal region Manzoor Ahmed Naik met with Member National Commission for Minorities Syed Shahzadi at her office in New Delhi and discussed various issues pertaining to minority communities of Jammu and Kashmir.
Manzoor Naik while interacting with Hon’ble Member NCM highlighted the plights of Muslim Community of twin border Districts Rajouri and Poonch and urged National Commission for Minorities to implement on large scale all the welfare measures like Maulana Azad National Fellowship (MANF), Padho Pardesh, Naya Savera, Nai Udaan, Seekho aur Kamao (Learn & Earn), USTTAD (Upgrading the Skills and Training in Traditional Arts/ Crafts for Development), Nai Manzil and many others for the upliftment and economic empowerment of minorities in this region.

“I have urged Hon’ble Member NCM Syed Shahezadi Ji to implement on large scale all the welfare measures particularly for the educational and economic upliftment of Muslims in Rajouri and Poonch”, Naik added.

Manzoor Naik also highlighted the plights of PasManda Muslim Communities of Pir Panjal Rajouri-Poonch region. Naik apprised Syed Shahezadi about the socio economic condition of this community which is politically, socially and economically marginalised.

“Presently, considerable numbers of PasManda Muslims like Nai, Tarkhan, Lohar, Kamhar, Hakar, Chaupan, Kasbi, Shakar, Miller, Mirasi, Dhobi, Mochi etc. resides in Rajouri and Poonch region and as per statistics and surveys they are quite backward in education, jobs, positions of importance, land, etc.” Naik commented.

Syed Shahezadi, Hon’ble Member National Commission for Minorities gave patient hearing and assured Naik that she will definitely take up the issues with the concerned ministries and at other appropriate forum at the earliest. Member NCM was fully convinced that demands discussed are the most legitimate and should be addressed as early as possible.
