Udhampur, November 26: A medical cum dental cum veterinary camp was conducted by under the aegis of Siachen Brigade at village Changmar today.  The aim of the camp was to benefit the local population by providing quality medical assistance by doctors from Army Medical Corps and screening the individuals with severe/ chronic disease requiring advanced/ special medical care. The veterinary care for the cattle was provided by veterinary doctor from Army Veterinary Corps.


The medical camp was very well received by the villagers and was appreciated by one and all.  In addition, to medical treatment the villagers were also educated on health related issues, hygienic living habits and issues related to health of their cattle.  A large Number of elderly men, women and children availed the medical treatment provided free of cost as part of ‘Op Sadbhavana’.  An adhoc dispensary was set up for the camp.  A total of 207 locals and 325 cattle were treated during the camp.


The medical cum dental cum veterinary camp was instrumental in carving out a niche for better health efforts to be provided to the local populace of far flung from remote villages of Changmar on Nubra Axis.
