 PDP president  and former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday  demanded of Prime Minister Narenadra Modi to respond to a call for dialogue made by t Pakistan’s Prime Minister –in waiting Imran Khan to resolve Kashmir issue.

Speaking in public for the first time  after she lost the government following the withdrawal of support by her alliance partner  BJP  on June 19th, Mehbooba Mufti  said that the dialogue was imperative , but she clearly avoided any reference asking Pakistan to  stop sending terrorists to this side of the Line of Control. She  displayed her usual squeamish stand toward Pakistan as she  is averse to the idea of  saying anything  that hurts Pakistan or its supporters in  Kashmir .

Former Chief Minister who is facing a rebellion – both vocal and silent within her party that was founded on July 28, 1999 – after the loss of power  said that “ She refused to make compromises and that’s why cabal of support was cut to her government by  BJP. Otherwise , I could have ruled the state for six years,” she  added with his hand up in air to stress the point that she stood for the  Kashmir cause and friendship with Pakistan  and refused to side with BJP’s idea  that terrorism and talks cannot go together.

Mehbooba Mufti who had   re-stitched  her alliance with BJP in march 2016 after the death f her father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in early January that year ,  today declared that she “ drank a cup of poison by aligning with BJP.’.
