Jammu, November 3
Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is arriving here to take stock of the situation arising out of the border skirmishes and also to condole the death of veteran Jammu leader Mangat Ram Sharma who passed away here this morning.
Mehbooba will arrive here this evening , and will hold a meeting with the senior officials to make an assessment of the situation on the borders and the hinterland. She may visit the hospital where border shelling injured are undergoing treatment.
Her government has been facing criticism for not taking care of the border residents for not building any alternate arrangements for them during these harrowing times when shells from across the border had brought hell in their lives. The administration is paralyzed and the political leaders of the government are conspicuous by their absence in the border villages.
The Chief Minister who also is president of PDP is a strong votary of Indo- Pak dialogue for restoration of peace and solution of Kashmir crisis. Time and again, she has asked for dialogue between the two countries.
Mehbooba Mufti apart from reviewing the situation is scheduled to visit the residence of Mangat Ram Sharma, who was Deputy Chief Minister in her late father Mufti Mohammad Sayeed’s government from 2002 to 2005.
