In a major move , the ministry of home affairs has decided to reserve 10 per cent vacancies in Central armed Police Forces ( CAPFs) and Assam Rifles for Agniveers who would be recruited and serve under the “ Agnipath” scheme rolled out by the government this week.


This move announced by MHA on Saturday will add to the comfort level of the prospective Agniveers , for they will have assured employment and prospects of full-fledged service once they complete their tenure as “ agniveers” in the three wings of the armed forces- Army, Navy and Airforce.


This move initiated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah will help in reassuring the youth that they will have brighter future once they join as Agniveers under the Agnipath scheme.
The Home Ministery has also decided to give three-year age relaxation beyond the prescribed upper age limit to Agniveers for recruitment in CAPFs & Assam Rifles. Further, for the first batch of Agniveer, the age relaxation will be for 5 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.
