Ministry of Home Affairs has given green Signal for promoting 2009 batch IPS Officers in J&K as I/C DIGs.
According to sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs “a go ahead” has been given to promote 2009 batch IPS Officers Rahul Malik, Shailendra Mishra and Imtiyaz Parray .
The decision was taken in a meeting where the J&K Lt. Governor GC Murmu, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla and Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam were present.
The DPC to formalise the promotions is expected to be held in the month of July 2020.Thethree — Rahul Malik, Shailendra Mishra and Imtiyaz Parray are likely to be promoted as I/C DIGs.
This decision comes as the police force in J&K is facing a shortage of DIGs. There may be some more promotions following this.
