The Internet has been also suspended in Anantnag district

Srinagar, April 25:

A complete shutdown is being observed on Wednesday in twin towns of Anantnag and Bijbehara following the killing of two local militants during a pre-dawn gunfight in Bijbehara.

Reports said that all the shops and other business establishments remained closed in both the towns while the traffic was also off the roads.

Authorities have also put heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces at the sensitive points in both the towns to thwart any protests.

Meanwhile, the Internet has been also suspended in Anantnag district.

Two militants of Hizb ul Mujahideen militants were killed in a gunfight with the forces in Bijbehara early today.

Police has identified both the slain militants as Safder Amin Bhat (25), son of Muhammad Amin of Zirpara Bijbehara and Burhan Ahmad Ganaie (25) of Malipora Hablish Kulgam.
