Security Forces busted a hideout of militants in Doda district and recovered large quantity of arms and ammunition.
Police said that on a tip off a joint search operation with army was launched in the Linga Manjmi area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Dessa. The area was cordoned off and during search troops achieved success in locating the natural hideout of terrorists. The natural hideout of terrorists noticed by the troops was smashed and recoveries made from it include; one Rifle AK-47, 08 nos. Rifle 12 Bore, 01 UBGL, 01 No. Grenade, 01 Chinese Grenade, 2263 Ammunition AK-47, 02 Diaries, 01 Purse, 01 Notebook, 02 AK Mags. , 02 Radio Set and 02 Chinese Pistols.
It appears that the consignment of arms was hidden by militants who had been operating in the area, who have now either been killed or migrated to the other parts of the state. Since, no active militant is operating in this District for the last 05 years.
