JAMMU, September 27: J&K Freedom Fighters Association held a function to remember Shaheed Bhagat Singh on his birth anniversary at Dewan Badrinath Mandir, Old Secretariat, Mubarak Mandi, here on Tuesday.
The function was organized by the President of the Association Ved Gandotra and Anil Gupta was the Chief Guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the members highlighted the life history of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and his associates, who fought for the freedom of the motherland. Their Martyrdom, evoke a wave of freedom struggle throughout the country, the members said and added that many youth joined the freedom struggle following the deeds of Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev.
The members also remembered Netaji Subash Chander Bose, Maha Rani Laxmi Bhai, Chander Shekhar Azad, Ashfaq Ullah Khan Bahadur Shah Zaffar, Tatya Tope, Nana Ji and all know and unknown freedom fighters who scarified their lives for the motherland.
The member exhorted the youth to come out of drug menace and last for money and use all their might and power to eradicate poverty and corruption from the society and also asked them to fight the social evils like dowry system and killing of female child.
The prominent persons present were Parbhat Kapahi, Rajiv Mahajan, Sham Lal Bhagat, Raj Rattan Raina, Tej Ram Dogra, Suresh Sharma and J.J Singh.
