All the relatives of policemen in Kashmir abducted by different militant outfits have been set free by their captors , according to highly placed sources.
The release of the abductees came after a series of appeals were made by their families to the militants urging them to set them free and reunite with their family members .
Sources said that while there was a confirmation of four having reached their families after spending more than 24-36 hours with the kidnapers , others, too, might have been released . “ I think all of them might have been released,” a senior police officer J K News Today. On Friday evenbing .
The cycle of the kidnapping of the relatives had started on Thursday when the houses of the militants were torched in Shopian within hours of the killing of four policemen in the town that had sent shockwaves among the policemen and their families . The locals had charged the forces with setting afire the houses of the militants.
The police had also arrested Hizb-ul-Mujahadeen Commander Royaz Naikoo’s father . He, however, was released on Friday.
The captives too had appealed to the police through the videos aired on social media that the police should not “ harass” the militants’ families .
