Jammu, May 09: A defence ministry spokesperson has urged media to exercise caution and get things verified before putting these in public domain.
This advisory has come amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan, which have exploded in firing of missiles and aerial strikes.
The spokesperson said -“
While it is good to report actuals and ground situations.
I must remind you and caution you of live reporting of ongoing operations especially from the location with visuals. The lessons post 26/11 have to be remembered.

I would also like to reinforce the point
that Live reporting has the potential to seriously endanger lives and jeopardize own plans.

Further to above, there is a lot of misinformation also being circulated without credible authentication.

In view of the foregoing,
It is advised that the press briefings given by IHQ of MoD be only taken as an accurate version and all messages / videos news unless corroborated with the MoD brief should not be circulated as the same may also be detrimental to country’s image and initiative.
