Poonch, January 31:

Addressing a largely attended Congress Rally at Poonch PCC Chief GA Mir said that during UPA regime headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh there were comparatively calm on the LOC and because of experienced  and mature leadership which is evident from the fact that during the past 10 years there were less number of ceasefire violations.

However Prime Minister Narinder Modi had exploited the countrymen describing the UPA Govt. as weak but now when situation on the border has worsened a lot as also in Kashmir, he questioned the Modi Govt. of its strong policy. He said there does not appear to be any policy of BJP Govt. towards Pakistan and on Kashmir. He said this has become a routine affair and the people all along borders are paying the price besides large number of civilians and  Jawans martyred, he should explain BJP govt.’s  strong policy and road Map to deal with the situation.

Lauding the people of Poonch- Rajouri which have always given a befitting reply to the communal and divisive forces and maintained their tradition of harmony besides defeating the designs of Pakistan, Mir said that the innocent people were made to believe the falsehood spread by PJP-PDP as per their tactical strategy to rouse the emotions of the people.

The unholy alliance by the two ideologically opposite coalition partners have made the people to be cheated and betrayal. asked the party workers to gear up their activities in order to strengthen the party and play the role of a responsible and vibrant opposition as assigned to the party by the people. He said that Congress has always played a historical and vital role in cementing the relationship of peace and brotherhood and unity and integrity of the State.

Mir said that if Govt. is sincere about the  discussion regarding holding of Panchayat elections, we propose all party meeting which should be chaired by Chief Minister, as she is having the charge of Home Minister as well as Election Deptt.
