SRINAGAR , Oct 14 : — Member of Parliament for Anantnag–Rajouri, Mian Altaf Ahmad, has expressed profound grief and anguish over the devastating fire incident in Loran area of Mandi in Poonch district, which destroyed residential houses and local shops.
In a statement issued today, Mian Altaf described the incident as deeply heartbreaking, noting that several families have been rendered homeless and shopkeepers have suffered massive financial losses in the midnight blaze. He extended his heartfelt sympathies and solidarity to the fire victims, assuring them that he stands firmly with them in this hour of crisis.
Highlighting the demand of the local populace, the Member of Parliament emphasized the urgent necessity of establishing a permanent Fire and Emergency Station equipped with a dedicated fire tender in Loran Mandi.
It is deeply concerning that fire tenders had to travel long distances to reach Loran, causing critical delays during such an emergency,” MP Mian Altaf stated. “Had a fire service unit been stationed locally in Loran, the extent of damage could have been minimized significantly. The government must sanction and station a permanent fire tender unit in the Loran area without further delay to prevent future disasters.” Mian Altaf also demanded the administration should Swiftly initiate disaster relief operations and provide immediate financial and material assistance to the affected families.
