Former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Hussain Beigh is likely to form a new regional party in Kashmir with the help of a prominent Shia leader of Baramullah district , according to sources aware of behind-the-scene developments bound to cause ripples in the political spectrum of the Valley.

The informed sources said that Beigh had been planning a new regional party in Kashmir for long . And he is now giving final shape to his plans , as one of the leaders of politically influential family of Baramullah district having influence in the Shia community has offered support to Beigh . The duo is working in consonance with some other leaders of other parties who also are keen to have a new regional party .

The new party, sources said, would be taking shape when Beigh is confident of sufficient support for the new group .

It may be recalled that his wife Safeena Beigh had contested and won Wagoora in Baramullah district .
