candidate for the post of Sarpanch from Narbal constituency on the outskirts of Srinagar is caught in between rock and hard place as he not being allowed to campaign ever since he filed his nomination papers five days ago
Noor Mohammad is not being allowed to step out of his home to campaign and at the same time no security is being provided to him to enable him to canvass in his constituency.
“ This is an acute dilemma for me , for I don’t know what to do . I have no means other than door to door canvassing to seek votes for me and my party.This is for the first time that I am confronted with go- nowhere situation,” he told JK News Today over phone.
He claimed that all his pleas to the government to enable him to campaign have not been heeded to.
In such circumstances, Noor Mohammad said, he is left with no option but to withdraw his candidature.
There have been numerous complaints where the candidates hae alleged that they are not being allowed to campaign.
