National Conference today raised the issue of Cordon And Search Operation in Srinagar City’s Downtown area and stages walkout from the Lower House.
Oppositon MLAs from NC today protested inside the assembly and staged walkout of the House under the leadership of the Leader of The Opposition, Omar Abdullah.
After beginning of House proceedings today, NC members stood and raised the issue of cordon and search operation in the Srinagar city and shouted slogans against the government.
NC asked government to clear its stand and amid shouts, staged walkout of the House.
Later speaking to the reporters outside, Senior NC leader Ali Mohammad Sagar termed “CASO” as unfortunate.
Opposition members said that it is after 17 years, CASO has been intensified and launched in the Srinagar city, adding, “on one hand government is speaking of Confidence Building Measures and panchayat polls but such steps will increase alienation among people.”
When State Government had not reacted or replied the issue, the NC members staged walkout.
