NCC cadets of 1 J& K Girls Battalion and 1 J & K Naval Unit , Srinagar from Govt. PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar participated in the ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat Awareness campaign’ organized from 1-15 August 2020 through social media. During the fifteen day campaign 45 enthusiastic cadets participated in different activities like taking online pledge, drawing /poster competition, poem writing/recitation, slogan writing, mask making, online quiz and writing Blog/creating Vlog and sharing them on different social media apps to create awareness among the masses to give impetus to the vision of the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi of making India a self-reliant nation.
Principal of the college, Dr Sangita Nagari appreciated the efforts of the cadets for participating in the various activities for creating awareness among the society and their small effort towards making Bharat “Atma Nirbhar ”. She also emphasized that Indian culture and tradition have always backed the concept of being Self-Reliant. She gladly expressed the fact that the NCC cadets of the college are like Power House, full of energy and always ready contribute to make this concept a success.
Lt. Dr Revika Arora and SLt. Dr Neelima Gupta , ANOs of the college motivated the cadets for maximum participation and helped them in creating and using different concepts for creating awareness among the society regarding Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
The social media apps like whatsapp, facebook and instagram were utilized to spread the message of being ‘vocal about Local’ and ‘Self Reliant India’ by cadets who put in their best efforts to impact maximum people as part of individual contribution towards Nation Buliding.
