President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday said that a new dawn is rising in Jammu and Kashmir.
In his address to the nation on the eve of the 75th Independence- Day , President said that a “ new dawn is rising in Jammu and Kashmir,” and heaped raise on the efforts of the government in initiating consultation process with stakeholders ( of the Union Territory) .”
“ The government has initiated the process of consultations with all stakeholders who have faith in democracy and the rule of law ,” he said in a direct reference to the recent initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in hosting an all party-meeting on Kashmir in New Delhi on June 24.
In the meeting , the Prime Minister had said that he believed in reducing “ dil aur dilli se suri) ( minimizing distances between hearts and Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir).The meeting chaired by Prime Minister was attended among others by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and J&K’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
President urged the people, especially the youth, of Jammu and Kashmir to utilize the opportunity and work on realising their aspirations through democratic institutions.”
