Jammu, 26 August 2026: In continuation of the incident reported on 25.08.2026 during construction of the elevated corridor under Package 15 of the Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Expressway at Village Jakh, Tehsil Vijaypur, District Samba, NHAI carried out a detailed technical examination of the incident.
Three experts having vast experience in the field were called to the site. The expert team inspected all aspects of the techno-mechanical failure involving the highly sophisticated launching gantry and examined the relevant design details and sequence of operations.
Prima facie, the incident appears to have occurred due to a technical snag during the launching operation. Detailed examination is continuing to establish the precise cause and necessary corrective and preventive measures.
The victim’s family has been suitably compensated, and employment has also been provided to the next of kin by the company. While such assistance cannot compensate for the loss, it has been extended in solidarity with the affected family.
