Sharpening her attack on Pakistani army for setting up “state above state” and violating the constitutional red lines, prominent Pakistani politician and leading light of the opposition conglomerate People’s Democratic Alliance Maryam Nawaz has declared that this kind of arrangement is not acceptable to the people of her country.

Maryam Nawaz who has emerged as the bitterest critic of the Imran Khan Government in an interview with the Hindi service of BBC made her two priorities known. She said that the first thing is that the Imran Khan government should go home first before any other way is found out to steer Pakistan clear of the crises that have made the lives of the people miserable. Simultaneously, she wanted the army to stay “within its crease and not to cross the same.”

In her interview with the BBC’s Pakistan correspondent Farhat Javed, Maryam Nawaz , daughter of former Prime Minister Mian Mohammad Nawaz Sharif and leader of the Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) answered questions regarding the current situation in Pakistan , which she said is a story of failures on all fronts of the selected government of Imran Khan. “You talk of any area, economy, domestic policy, law and order, foreign policy , there is nothing but deep failure that Imran Khan government has brought to the people of the country.”
“Prices are skyrocketing , there is no electricity , no availability of gas , people are crumbling under the heavy weight becoming heavier because of price rise and the apathetic attitude of the government,” she said .
Answering a question why her whole attack is against Imran Khan , Maryam said : “I don’t’ want to name him, but when there are failures all over because of him that makes me to name him. He is not a human being. He is an irrelevant person.”
The PML-N leader said that “Imran Khan and his government should go home ,” and called for fresh elections so that the people can have the government of their choice.
She said that she is not against army. “It is our institution , but then it should not try to set up a state above state . it should stay within its limits , not cross the crease. We want supremacy of the Constitution .”

She said she would not enter into any dialogue with army in closed-door meetings . “Whatever will happen , will be discussed in full public view.”
