New Delhi, September 03:

Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi was questioned by the Delhi Police for around six hours on Friday in connection with the Rs 200 crore extortion case filed against alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Nora was questioned by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police as a witness in the case. The actor arrived at around 11 am and left the office around 6 pm after recording her statement. She was questioned about the gifts she had received from conman Sukesh.

Last year, the Delhi Police filed a chargesheet against Sukesh, his wife Leena Maria Paul, and others, alleging that he extorted Rs 200 crore from the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh.

Nora Fatehi refuted the allegations that conman Sukesh gifted her a BMW. She told the police that the car was gifted by Sukesh’s wife in return for attending an event in Chennai.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate had named actor Jacqueline Fernandez as an accused in the Rs 200 crore extortion case. The ED had also filed the chargesheet against the Bollywood actor in August.

Sources said that the ED had found Jacqueline to be the beneficiary of the proceeds of the extorted money. The ED believes she was aware that conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar was an extortionist. Statements by key witnesses and accused have revealed that Jacqueline Fernandez was continuously in touch with Sukesh over video calls. Sukesh also confessed to giving gifts to the Sri Lanka-born actor.

Meanwhile, Jacqueline has now been summoned by the EOW to record her statement in the case on September 12.
