Batra Group – One of the biggest business groups of J&K today hosted Trophy unveiling ceremony of Jammu’s first ever u-23 football premier league – Pegasus Premier League
The Football league will start on November 19 and the final Match will be held on January 15, 2023 at Parade Ground Jammu.
The trophies were unveiled by Ms Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K sports council and Sh Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council & Member Governing Council (Sports) Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, in presence of Sh. Davinder Kumar Batra, Managing Director, Batra Group, Sh. Manik Batra Director, Batra Group, Sh. Bhisham Batra, Director, Batra Group, Dr. Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS and others.
Total 18 teams of boys from J&K and 6 Teams of Girls from Jammu division are participating in the league.
While unveiling the trophies for the Pegasus Premier League, Ms Nuzhat Gul, Secretary J&K sports council congratulated Batra Group for Organising the league, she pledged full support on behalf of sports council under my youth my pride.
Sh Ranjeet Kalra, Member J&K Sports Council & Member Governing Council (Sports) Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, said, “I express my gratitude to the Batra group and the organising committee for giving platform to young footballers for UT.”
He outlined the various sports initiatives being undertaken by the sports council under the leadership of the hon’ble LG shri Manoj Sinha who is also the president of the J&K sports Council
Bhisham Batra, Director Batra Group Said, “There are many talented individuals in our UT who don’t get the right platform to showcase their skills , hence as responsible corporates it becomes our social responsibility to invest in community organisations that provide recreational and sports programs, and provide the right exposure and platform.”
Manik Batra Director Batra Group in his vote of thanks said, “Getting children involved in sport at the right age not only helps them to get more active and but also helps them develop a healthier personality. The Pegasus Premier league is one such initiative by our group to promote budding football talent in our UT. We look forward for it to be a marquee event which we can host on an annual basis.”
Prize money for boys winning team is ₹75000 and Runners up will get cash reward of ₹25000. Whereas, Prize Money for girls winning team is ₹25000 and Runners up team will get cash reward of ₹10000.
Boys teams which are participating in the Pegasus Football Premier League are Pegasus Hero FC, young Hero FC, Young Rovers, Young Star, Jammu United, J&K Bank Academy, Prem Nath Dogra, Shaheen FC, Vijay Club, Samba FC, Param FC, Kathua United, Sanik Colony FC, Udhampur City FC, Lonestar Kashmir FC and ASCOMS FC.
Whereas, Pegasus Hero Football Club, Param Football Club and Udhampur City Football Club Are participating as girls teams.
The matches will be held at Parade Ground Jammu, Science College Jammu, Sports Council Kathua and Sports Ground Udhampur.
