The Kejriwal govt had sought suggestions from the people of Delhi on the lockdown. The govt has received over 5 lakh suggestions with which it will make a proposal to send to the Centre.

The Delhi government led by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be sending a proposal to the Centre on the lockdown strategy in the national capital based on over 5 lakh suggestions given by the people of Delhi. From opening up Delhi Metro to keeping schools and colleges shut, there are several suggestions that have been made.
In a media address on Thursday, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, “A meeting between Lieutenant Governor and State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) will be held at 4 pm today. The suggestions given by you all will be discussed at the meeting. To what extent should relaxations can be given in Delhi, these suggestions will be sent to central government.”
Arvind Kejriwal said as the Delhi government sought people’s opinion on the lockdown, it has received over 5 lakh suggestions so far, which are being considered for the proposal that will be sent to the Centre.
Kejriwal also said that among the suggestions, people have asked for partial reopening of Delhi Metro services and also bus services.
“We had sought suggestion from people, we have received more than 5 lakh suggestions. Based on these suggestions, we will send a proposal to the Centre. Most have suggested that schools and educational institutes should stay closed till summer vacations,” Kejriwal said.
People have also suggested that while hotels should remain closed during the lockdown, the government must open restaurants that can start takeaway services and home delivery.
“Most people also said that hotels should stay closed however restaurants should be opened for take-away and home delivery. There is almost a consensus that barber shops, spas, saloons, cinema halls and swimming pools should not open yet,” said Kejriwal.
“We have received a lot of suggestions from many market associations and most of them have said market and market complexes should be opened. They said they can be opened on odd-even basis, half shops one day and half shops another,” the chief minister said.
Many have also suggested to do away with the 7 pm to 7 am curfew on all non-essential activities.
