Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir – June 17, 2023 : The Kickboxing Association of Jammu and Kashmir proudly announces the commencement of the Open J&K UT Kickboxing Championship 2023 today at Salvatore International School, Shilvat, Bandipora, This event organised in collaboration with District Administration Bandipora Witnessed an impressive turnout of approximately 470 participants, including both boys and girls from all age categories representing the 14 districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
The opening ceremony of the event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests and dignitaries. Chief Guest, Additional District Development Commissioner of Bandipora, Afsar Ali Khan, inaugurated the championship. He was accompanied by the Guest of Honor, Additional Secretary to J&K Government’s Youth Service and Sports Department Waseem Raja.
The occasion was further honored by the presence of several other notable personalities.
While addressing the participants, Waseem Raja emphasized the global popularity of kickboxing as a sport. He expressed his delight at the decision to hold the championship in District Bandipora, recognizing its potential to encourage youth participation in sports and steer them away from negative influences. Waseem Raja conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the organizing committee for their exceptional efforts in hosting this grand event.
Furthermore He extended his appreciation to all the district coaches and participants who enthusiastically partook in the championship. He acknowledged the excellent performance of Bandipora in the realm of sports and believed that this championship would serve as an inspiration to other districts.
He assured unwavering support from the Department of Youth Service and Sports for such events, fostering an environment conducive to the holistic development of young athletes across Jammu and Kashmir.
During the event, selection trials for the upcoming National championship for Senior, Junior and Sub-Junior catagoties that is to be Conducted by WAKO India Kick-Boxing FEDERATION were also held.
The Kickboxing Association of Jammu and Kashmir also expressed its gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Guest of Honor, and all dignitaries for their valuable presence and support.
