Jammu, February 1

With National   Conference and Congress questioning the absence of Chief Minister Mehboooba Mufti  from the scheduled all party meeting on   evolving a political consensus on the  holding of Panchayat polls in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday , the meeting is as good as failed even before it has taken off.

PCC president Ghulam Ahmad Mir and National Conference’s Provincial President Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani  have said that the meeting loses its relevance as the Chief Minister has chosen to stay away from it .

It is against the established norm , it has been pointed out. The precedent is that all the time all party meeting is chaired by Chief Minister.

“ This is strange that a minister ( Rural Development minister Abdul Haq Khan ) will preside over the meeting.,” Mir said.

It appears that the opposition may boycott this all party meeting unless Chief Minister takes part in it.
