People’s Alliance for Gupkar Declaration ( PAGD) will be holding its first meeting after a gap of more than one year , on December 21, to deliberate the  preliminary report of the Delimitation Commission .

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah , and two other MPs of the party, shall be attending the Delimitation Commission’s meeting in New Delhi on  December 20 , according to sources. The NC will share its deliberation with other members of the Alliance.

PDP president, who also is the vice president of the PAGD, and spokesperson M Y Tarigami are already in Jammu .

Farooq Abdullah will be arriving in Jammu on  December 21st morning to preside over the meeting that is scheduled to be held at his residence in Bhatindi in Jammu.

National Conference, it is learnt will not accept any  allocation of seats for the Assembly unl;ess it gives due weightage to the population as per 2011 census. The Valley, which  had 46 seats in the previous Assembly , is having nearly seven million population , while Jammu is having more area 26,923 sq. kms as against 15,000 sq. kms of the Valley. Jammu , having 37 seats , is insisting for more seats for the region than that of the Valley.

It is understood  that an important decision would be taken at the PAGD meeting.

This is the second meeting of the PAGD in Jammu. It had held  its first meeting in Jammu on November 7 last year.
