Srinagar, June 22: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday became the first Kashmiri leader to speak on American attack on Iran last night and took Pakistan to task for recommending Nobel Peace Prize for the US President Donald Trump.
In her scathing criticism of OIC , Mehbooba Mufti specially chose Pakistan for criticism, saying “the country that rushed to recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize now finds itself with egg on its after he attacked Iran”.
Pakistan had very enthusiastically recommended that Trump be awarded Nobel Peace Prize for his role in the recent high Intensity Indo- Pak conflict. This recommendation followed immediately after Trump hosted Pakistan army Chief Asim Munir for lunch at White House on last Wednesday- June 18, 2025.
Mehbooba Mufti’s post on X reads : “ The OIC as expected has once again limited its response to mere lip service in the wake of the attack on Iran. Meanwhile the country that rushed to recommend Donald Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize now finds itself with egg on its face after he attacked Iran. By launching this attack on Iran Trump has dangerously escalated tensions plunging the region into a new wave of violence and edging the world closer to the brink of a global conflict.
